The Word Of Life

I was a fundamental Christian and even graduated from a good Bible school. But the Word was just law and “dead letters” to me, and I was always battling to overcome my flesh (2 Cor 3:6). A friend who had found something new invited me to a conference. It was there that I first heard Witness Lee, speaking on life and building from Genesis to Revelation.

About two months after the conference, my wife and I were fellowshipping around a campfire with another Christian couple about the conference, and later my wife and I realized how much had gotten into us on that conference weekend. A few weeks later we began to meet with the local church in our city.

I found that in the local churches there were many who are very constituted with the Lord and with the Word. I found out that I really had the Lord in my spirit as life, and that the Word also becomes life to me when I receive it in that way.

I still have battles with my old man, my flesh, and with the enemy, Satan. But I am still enjoying the fellowship and the ministry in the local churches after more than 20 years. I know that continuing to enjoy the reality of the word of life is my only hope to be transformed (2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 12:2).
